Students will be expected to compare multiple texts on their weekly and state wide assessments.

Select your anchor text (using a story from the adopted reading series). Then find shorter, related text to enrich and broaden the students' background knowledge.  This supplemental text may also help students realize a different perspective compared to the original text.

~Make text-to-text connections
~Make comparisons using a T-Chart

.Remember: ISTEP will require that students compare multiple "texts" ~ written, digital, video clips, images, advertisements, diagrams, etc.

Reading Online is more difficult for our students, so provide many opportunities to read digital text. Opening more than one tab and reading paired text between tabs is an important skill for our students to master for 21st century curriculum.
